An informal conversation about the main physical features of Kashmir - its population, area, language, etc.

Mohan: Greetings, Ashok.

Ashok: Greetings, Mohan.

Mohan: How are you?

Ashok: I am all right.

Mohan: When did you come to Kashmir?

Ashok: I came yesterday. Kashmir is very beautiful.

Mohan: Yes, Kashmir is beautiful.

Ashok: Do you live in Kashmir?

Mohan: Yes, I do (live in Kashmir).

Ashok: What is the population of Kashmir?

Mohan: The population of Kashmir is approximately forty-six lakhs.

Ashok: How big is Kashmir?

Mohan: The total area of Kashmir is approximately two and a quarter lakh square kilometers.

Ashok: Is only Kashmiri spoken in Kashmir?

Mohan: Yes, In Kashmir only Kashmiri is spoken. But in Jammu, Dogri is spoken, and in Ladakh, Ladakhi is spoken.

Ashok: Do you speak only Kashmiri?

Mohan: Yes, I speak only Kashmiri.

Ashok: There are other things concerning Kashmir that I want to talk to you about. But not today, I am in a hurry.

Mohan: Yes, certainly. Goodbye.

Ashok: Goodbye.
