A conversation with a taxi driver

A conversation with a taxi driver
The traditional mode of transportation in Kashmir has not always been a  taxi. It has only recently been introduced in Srinagar, and is fast becoming popular. It is now replacing the fascinating horse-drawn carriage (tonga) in certain areas.

Ashok: Is the taxi available (for hire)?

Taxi driver: Yes, (please) get in. Where do you want to go?

Ashok: I want to go to the post office.

Taxi driver: Which post office?

Ashok: The head post office.

Taxi driver: All right, come on in.

Ashok: How far is it?

Taxi driver: It is two miles from here.

Ashok: All right, (please) hurry.

Taxi driver: All right, sir, (we're) on our way.
