Villagers mourn brave son's death

BHIWANI: Mortal remains of Lal Singh of Regiment 212 Rocket (Ordnance) were consigned to flames at his native village Gokal last evening. As the body of the martyr was brought to the village a large number of villagers raised slogans "shaheed Lal Singh amar rahe". 

Twelve-year-old son of the slain soldier lit the funeral pyre. Retired Army officers Col Bir Singh, Col Jai Narian, Col Gajraj Singh and Col Sukhhi, former MP Surender Singh, Speaker Chhatar Singh, Satpal Sangwan and Nirpender Singh, both MLAs, also placed wreaths on the martyr's body.
