KOA Camp volunteer team is pleased to announce the venue for 2011 KOA National Camp (East Coast). The camp will be held from Friday, July 1st to Monday, July 4th, 2011 at Lake George, NY.
Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is a popular upstate vacation spot just 3-4 hours from New York city. Lake George is steeped in history, surrounded by majestic mountains, and caressed by the waters of one of America’s most beautiful lakes. It offers something for everyone- to swim, to relax in the parks, browse through the many shops, or be entertained by our attractions- it is truly a tourists’ paradise.
Roaring Brook Ranch Resort
You will be staying at the Roaring Brook Ranch Resort, an all-inclusive family resort in Lake George with swimming pools, three tennis courts, 25 horses, wilderness riding, saunas, fitness rooms, nightly entertainment, and nearby golf courses. Roaring Brook Ranch Resort is a popular spot for conferences and special events. Its location in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains and so close to Lake George makes Roaring Brook Ranch, an ideal place to stay for fun or pleasure. We have exclusive usage of a large isolated common area where the event will be held. The common area includes a dining room, stage area, bar, dance floor, and a cocktail lounge.

Roaring Brook Ranch Resort is a short 2 miles southwest of Lake George on Route 9N South, Lake George, NY 12845.
If you are driving from south: From NYS Thruway to Exit 24 (Albany) to the Northway I-87 to Exit 21. Turn left on to Rt. 9N. Approximately 1 mile to left turn onto Roaring Brook Driveway.
If you are driving from North: Northway I-87 to Exit 21. Turn right on to Rt. 9N. Approximately 1 mile to left turn onto Roaring Brook Driveway.
Tent Sites
The main venue for the camp this year is at the Roaring Brook Ranch Resort, and there are no tent sites in this resort. However, we understand that some participants are hard core campers and they would like to put up their own tents. We have therefore reserved 20 camp sites at Half Mile Ranch Camping Resort for the campers. This is a camp site about 10 minutes drive from the main venue for the camp, Roaring Brook Ranch Resort. Visiting Artist: Neerja Pandit
Neerja is an acclaimed playback singer in the Hindi film music world. She is a name to reckon with in the world of Kashmiri folk music. She has been a disciple to great names in the music world like Pt. Shambhunath Sopori and Pt.Bhajan Sopori and well known music director Shri. Shambhu Senji. She has done her Masters in Music from Chandigarh University. Presently she is from Sarangi Maestro Shri. Dhruv Ghosh.She is the winner of Rapa Awards for her title songs in Sarhad and Tere Mere Sapne. She has also sung several title numbers for serials like Mukkammal, Gul Gulshan Gulfam, Shapath, Noorjehan Filmi Chakkar, Nageen and many more. She has lended her voice to films like Sheen, Yeh Dil, Indian Babu Lalchi and the very recent Traffic Signal with renowned Music directors like Nadeem Shravan ,Shamir Tandon & Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen.
Besides Hindi films she has number of successful Kashmiri albums like Chashme bu Wondai, Yaadvotur, Patram Pushpam and the recent Kashmiri Club Mix to her name.She has recently completed a Sufi album. Music is by her son Raj Pandit. She has performed all over the country and also abroad in countries such as Mauritius, U.S.A and U.K.

Fort William Henry Museum
By 1689, the British and French were the predominate nations in the New World. Wars for land, water passages and trade had been fought between these nations for years on the European continent, spilling over into North America. The final conflict, 1754-1763, is known as the French & Indian War and the Seven Years War.
Sitting atop a small rise, Fort William Henry commanded the southern end of Lake George November 1755 to August 1757. The Fort’s history is short but its final tumultuous days have been retold, although inaccurately, in the “Last of the Mohicans” by James Fennimore Cooper.
Pricing
Registration Charges: $50 per family
Camp Expense Charges: $135 per person for all 4 days (Children ages 4 years and less are free) OR
$60 per person per day (Children ages 4 years and less are free)
Hotel Room Charges: (these rates are only applicable till June 15, 2011)
$325 per room (sleeps 4) for 3 nights OR
$114 per room (sleeps 4) per night
Room rates are subject to applicable taxes and other charges as per resort policies.
Tent Sites:
$34 per night for a family of 4
These rates are only applicable till June 15, 2011, after which discounted room rates will not be available. There will also be a late fee of $ 25 per registration for all registrations received after June 15, 2011.
