GENERAL BODY MEETING MINUTES (Before Year 2007)
Year 1996 (Moodus, CT):
Summary of KOA General Body Meeting held on 5 July, 1996 at KOA East Coast Camp in Moodus, CT
Ashok Raina, President of KOA, opened the meeting and described all of the KOA's programs and activities. On behalf of KOA, Ashok Ji recognized; Piara and Asha Qusba, CT for organizing KOA East Coast Camp for the last two years, Tej Nath Kaul, NY for his dedication for KOA Educational Assistance Program, and Ashok Moza, TX for publishing KPI Newletter and each was presented with a plaque. Later on questions and suggestions were entertained from the members present at this meeting. This meeting was attended by over 200 people.

Year 1997 (Hershey, PA):
KOA held a general body meeting on July 5, 1997 at 5.30 PM and was attended by over 250 people. Lalit Wanchoo, President of KOA opened the meeting by observing one minute's silence in the honor of Late K L Kaul. Status of the various KOA sponsored programs was presented to the general body and questions were answered by the President. Tej N Kaul presented the details of the Educational Assistance Program and current status. President recognized following community members:
Ashok Raina, MD for his significant contributions as the President of the Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA) for 1995 and 1996. Inder K Bhat, VA as Chairman of the Election/Nomination Committee for conducting 1995 and 1996 elections of the organization in timely and efficient manner. Subhash Kak, LA for his contributions in promoting Kashmiri Pandit history and culture through his publications and speeches, particularly noteworthy is his book titled "The Secrets of Ishbar: Poems on Kashmir and other Landscapes". Sunil Fotedar, TX for his dedication, effort, and significant contributions for developing and maintaining KOA Web site and KPnet. Late Kanhya Lal Koul, MI for his outstanding contributions for the community and his efforts for raising money for the Kashmiri Pandit refugee children's program. Inder K Bhat and Kamini Bhat, VA for their outstanding efforts and dedication for organizing the KOA Camp of 1997 at Hershey, PA. Meeting was concluded by thanking people for their participation in various KOA sponsored activities.

Year 2001 (Hershey, PA):
KOA held a general body meeting of its members at Hershey, PA on Sunday, July 1, 2001 at 6:00 pm. The president of the association Sanjay Kaul welcomed all the members and declared the general body meeting open. The purpose of the GB meeting was to provide information to members and also respond to questions. In addition, suggestions and comments from the membership at large were sought. Agenda for the meeting included:
1) Election results, 2) Introduction of Board members, 3) Introduction of Executive Committee Members, 4) Membership statistics, 5) Status of KOA activities for membership in the USA which include: Calendar, Member Directory, Newsletter, Kashmiri Sunday Schools for age group 5 to 14 year olds, Kashmiri Institute-Language classes in DC from August 3 to 12 for age group 18+, Internet Activity, Camps in other regions, New member kit, Cultural activities inviting artists and activists from India, and finally restructuring the association 6) Status of KOA activities to help community members in India especially Jammu, programs include:
Educational Assistance Program, Sponsor A Child Program, Udhampur School, Sanitation Project in Camps, and financial help to needy, 7) Financial report, 8) Plans for next year 9) Awards and recognition 10) Question and Answer. At this meeting there was no agenda item that needed general body vote, if need be in future, general body vote will be conducted through postal ballots. After the Q & A session, president thanked all those who were present and declared the KOA general body meeting closed.

KOA held a “General Body Meeting” of its members at Moodus, CT on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 6:00 pm. The president of the association Shri Sanjay Kaul welcomed all the members anddeclared the general body meeting open. The purpose of theGB meeting was to provide information to members and alsorespond to questions. In addition, suggestions and commentsfrom the membership at large were sought. Agenda for themeeting included: 1) Board of Directors election 2001 results,2) Introduction of Board members, 3) Introduction of ExecutiveCommittee members, 4) Membership statistics, 5) Status ofKOA activities for membership in the USA which include:Calendar, Member Directory, Newsletter, Kashmiri SundaySchools for age group 5 to 14 year olds, Kashmiri Institute-Language classes in DC from August 2 to 10 for age group18+, Internet Activity, Camps in other regions, New memberkit, Cultural activities-inviting artists and activists from India,and finally restructuring the association 6) Status of KOAactivities to help community members in India especially Jammu,programs include: Educational Assistance Program, Sponsor-A-Child Program, Udhampur School, and financial help toneedy, 7) Financial report, 8) Plans for next year 9) Awardsand recognition 10) Question and Answer.
