Dear KOA Board Members, and KOA members:
As you may have known by now, we – Dr.
Hira Nakhasi, Dr. Sujata Quasba and I, have been chosen by the
current KOA management to serve the KOA community at large by
serving on the National Election Committee (NEC), which will have
the Secretary of KOA as an ex-officio member as per the KOA bylaws.
It is an honor to serve the community and we wish to thank the KOA management
for their faith and repose in us.
At the outset, we take the vow of being
transparent, neutral and fair to the process of electioneering and
to KOA bylaws, and assure you of our diligence and honesty in
conducting this very important responsibility.
As you realize, the democratic principles
succeed only through active involvement, proactive attitude and
representation. Your vote is crucial and it becomes your voice. An
opportunity to make the difference lies with you, the member - the
voter. As per the KOA bylaws, only the member who is a paid
member becomes the registered voter. Therefore, I
implore you to pay your membersip dues and become a paid member of
KOA as soon as possible.
The 2007 elections call for the elections
to be held for the following KOA positions:
1.
Director Zone 2
2.
Director Zone 5
3.
Director Zone 9
4.
Director Zone 10
KOA NEC, chaired by me, is
authorized to conduct these elections in accordance with the KOA bylaws.
Prior to each KOA election, a deadline is set for voter registration
for making you eligible to vote. I propose October, 20,
2007 as the deadline for voter registration for
the above elections. Details and the election schedule will follow
soon.
