An Introduction to Spoken Kashmiri

First and Foremost

  • Emphasis has been put on each and every Kashmiri word spoken, so that the learners can learn proper pronunciation of words. Therefore, the conversations recorded here at this site have been deliberately kept at a pace slower  than a n.mp3al conversation between two Kashmiri speaking individuals.

  • Go through the section titled "The Sounds of Kashmiri" before going through actual conversations.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: These HTML pages are designed to aid in understanding the Kashmiri language, and not in any way a replacement for the original book.

  • There may be intermittent problems due to:

    • high network traffic

    • site has reached its limit for audio connections

    • slow modem speeds

This website provides these Multimedia Services "AS IS" and the problem resolutions mentioned above are common but not typical. If problems with the use of Streaming Audio/Video persist, please consult your SysOp/ISP.
