India Outreach
For decades now, KOA has been the leading the global community initiatives, particularly those which benefit our community in India.
The signature programs of SAC and EAP the educational programs, the Medical Funds Program, and other upliftment community projects have been ongoing since 1994.
Since 2021 new programs and initiatives that were started were
- • Covid Relief and Rehabilitation Program
- • Family Sustenance Program – ongoing
- • Kitchen Sustenance Program
- • Communication Skill Project in Jagti – 2021 and 2022
- • Student Mentoring Program under EAP
- • Muthi Fresh Water pipes Project
- • Muthi Ladies Taraga Project to hand make Tarangs
- • Jagti E- Library Project
We expanded our reach beyond the traditional borders by launching global meet ups and virtual networking events bringing together the Kashear diaspora from various parts of the world .
Through our community engagement programs like zoom – dub, we brought together leaders of our communities throughout the world, historians, media personalities, chefs, artist, musicians, movie makers on one platform.
During Covid pandemic, KOA worked with all major and minor KP organizations, groups, individuals in India to bring one of the best humanitarian responses to global crisis. About 50 organizations came together under an umbrella created by KOA .It was one of the most remarkable and challenging time in our recent history after the exodus of 1990. The display of unity and humanity will be remembered for many decades.

We have collaborated with many more organizations in the past four years. Many new initiatives and programs were developed and collaboration with these new organizations has become a nexus of cross community bridge building.
Our newer partners include:
- • Kashmiri Sevak Samaj Faridabad – A partner during Covid, vaccination drives were conducted at KSS Faridabad after the Covid pandemic.
- • Global Solace, Jammu – The family sustenance program which was started after Covid was the result of help and support from global solace.
- • KP volunteers, Jammu – A major partner in distributing the Covid relief, including O2 concentrators, PPE kits, oxygen cylinders, pulse ox, meters, and other life saving equipment was distributed through KP volunteers.
- • Kakini Foundation – Commander Sanjay Kaul offered help in storing the essential equipment during Covid, distributing it through, and maintaining database which helped us connecting the entire KP population in India together, and delivering help to wherever it was needed. He was a Real Commanderon in that humanitarian crisis.
- • Helpline Humanity, (Jagti) Jammu – KOA has set up an E library in Jagti with the help of Helpline Humanity.
- • Hands for Humanity – Many many projects were undertaken in Muthi Camp under the guidance of Mr.Anil Bhan. These projects include:
- • Muthi Water Pipe Project
- • Mahren Tarang Project
- • Recently this organization has been helping rebuild the quarters for Purkho Fire victims. KOA has sent funds for these repairs.
- • Shirya Bhat Clinic, Jammu – helping with setting up consultation for post Covid patients, telemedicine calls, and other guidance to patient during Covid crisis.
- • Athrot Foundation, Jammu – This cultural foundation gives platform to young kids excelling in performing arts. we have invited many of the talented kids to perform on ‘Saaz Te Awaz’ program.
- • Collaboration with Hindu Education Society of Kashmir (Gandhi College) Jammu – KOA with Dr. Ashok Raina donated funds for construction of the auditorium at HESK college.
- • Collaboration with GKPD during Covid.
- • Collaboration with KOA Canada on various initiatives.
- • Collaboration with KP organizations in Australia, Dubai, New Zealand, Europe on various programs has been a hallmark of this administration.
- • IEKF and its leader Mrs. Krishna Bhan Have been a well wisher and a collaborator with KOA during the last four years.
In addition to these collaborations, KOA officers have visited and had multiple meetings with the Partners and volunteers on ground.
Another new initiative that was started since 2021 was to honor and acknowledge the outstanding leaders volunteers in India who have worked closely with KOA.
